ALL-RISKS OR NAMED-PERILS
Which cover fits your cargo
Cover is not one product. The two common routes protect different things at different cost. Tell us the cargo and its value on the quote form and we will talk you through which one fits.
All-risks cover
The broad route. It responds to most physical loss or damage in transit unless the policy names an exclusion. The sensible default for manufactured, finished, or higher-value goods.
- Covers most accidental loss or damage in transit
- Warehouse to warehouse, not only port to port
- Priced on the declared value of the cargo
- Fewer gaps to argue over when a claim comes
Rule of thumb: for finished or high-value goods, all-risks is usually worth the small extra premium.
Named-perils cover
The narrower route. It responds only to the events the policy lists, such as fire, sinking, or collision. Sensible for lower-value or bulk cargo where a total loss is the real worry.
- Covers only the perils the policy names
- Total-loss protection at a lower premium
- Common for bulk, raw, or low-value cargo
- Leaves everyday handling damage with you
Rule of thumb: below the value where handling damage would sting, named-perils still covers the disaster and keeps the premium down.
WHAT WE HANDLE
What we handle on the insurance step
Cover is only useful if it is the right cover, in place before the cargo moves, and set to the value on the documents. Those are the parts we coordinate. We do not underwrite the risk.
Cover matched to the risk
We weigh what you are shipping, the route it takes, and its value to see where the cargo is most exposed, then talk you through the cover that fits rather than whatever is quickest to buy.
Value declared correctly
The insured value is set from your commercial invoice, so the cargo is neither under-declared and short in a claim, nor over-declared and paying for cover it cannot use.
Cover arranged alongside the freight
Where you want cover in place, we point you to the appropriate provider and coordinate the details, so it is live before your cargo moves by sea, air, or road, not scrambled afterward.
COVERAGE
What a policy carries and what it drops
Cover has edges. Knowing what a standard policy carries, and what it quietly leaves out, is the difference between a claim that pays and one that does not. Here is the shape of it.
USUALLY COVERED
Accidental damage in transit Fire, sinking, collision, vessel loss
The core of most all-risks marine cargo cover.
USUALLY EXCLUDED
Poor or insufficient packing Ordinary wear, delay, loss of market
Gaps worth knowing before you lean on the cover.
WHERE IT APPLIES
Sea, air, and land legs Warehouse to warehouse Into and out of Malaysia
Cover follows the cargo across every mode of the journey.
One shipment, one conversation
Cover is arranged alongside the freight, not chased as a separate errand. Whichever way your cargo moves, the protection question stays one job, and one person to call.
